1 Jaggery Palm Fibre
An exceptionally strong fibre, brownish black in colour and having straight and smooth filaments which resemble horse hair. It is obtained from the Caryota Urens, and in Ceylon is used for making ropes for tying elephants. It is also employed for making brushes, especially those for polishing linen and cotton yarns, and for brushing velvets.
